The 3 Components of Open ePortfolio

Open ePortfolio has 3 main components.

  • A social network.
  • ePortfoliios for students.
  • A simple assessment tool.

These 3 componets when combined together create a product that encourages students and faculty to stay engaged with our system. It is simple to use and combines popular social networking capabilits with ePortfolio and assessment.  Open ePortfolio is built upon powerful open-source code and can be expanded to grow at the pace of the web. With our set of tutorials and on-campus training, educational institutions are encouraged to customize the system an an unlimited number of ways.

What is a Social Network?

Unlike most software solutions on the market, our ePortfolio feels a lot like Facebook or other popular social networking websites. Faculty and students are actually requesting access to it and enjoy working with it.  One faculty member said:

This is going to be fun.  There are 20 students in that class, which makes it the largest creative writing class in our history.  I don't know how I would have handled it without the ePortfolio option.
